The word Radar already tells the reader that this music
group "The Teenagers" are an underground/independent group via Mise
En Scene
The reader gets a messy/lazy/student like feel to the page
via the note messily ripped from a notebook, using Mise En Scene it can be
referencing or relating to its audience which is made of University students
via the note as if it were a revision note. Also it is within the context of
"The Teenagers"
This magazine page gives the feeling to the reader that this
band are teenagers via the quote placed right in the middle of the text with
the text curving or bending around it, if you compare this to the Country
Weekly double page spread with the fine red line and different red coloured
text neatly placed in the centre of the text signifying this is a quote it is
evident who the author is catering and appealing to.
As seen in many other magazines, there is a small website
link, utilising exchange the reader can stay interacted on various other forms
of media
The magazine utilises a Picture/Image "Anchor"
giving the meaning of the picture and giving it a purpose for existing on the
page. This can be found on the top right picture underneath the title "The
Teenagers".
The capital bold "T" signifies the start of an
article with the website link signifying the end of the article. This is for reader convenience.
The "NME LOVES" seal on the top of the page is a
sign of approval or verification, trust from the magazine to the reader that
NME approves or NME certifies this band, this therefore draws the reader in knowing what to expect, this can be utilised as a useful convention outside of the NME's genre therefore I may use it in my final magazine.
The quote placed in the middle of the text along with the pictures/posters behind the
band help the reader understand what type of band they are, also the subheading
has sexual references so using Mise En Scene with the accumulation of the
posture and composition of the models/band members, use of the word
"Teenager", sexual images and pictures located behind the band and
the other sexual subheading such as "Young, dumb and full of....filthy
tunes" shows the reader this is a sexual based band group.
