Research: Contents Page Analysis 2


The company logo ensures that brand logo features on the page multiple times for a brand recognition and corporate identity. This must be prominent for a successful magazine as "getting your name out there" is necessary for new magazines such as mine.


Like many other magazine i have analysed this utilises an article taster or summary just below the Subheading of an article on the contents page.


Exclusives or special  interviews etc. have their font enlarged to draw attention


The page number is given directly next to the articles subheading as opposed to in a column or vertical line on the right of the subheadings, this assists in efficient and convenient article acquisition.


Subheadings segregate articles for easier navigation for the reader, Q also make it clear what has been added as an exclusive or a special via "Oasis Special!", this gives the element that the reader is getting more value for his or hers money and helps to contribute to the "packed full of content" feeling and atmosphere to the magazine.


Q utilises exchange via the website link located on the top right of the contents page like many other magazines in order for the reader to stay interacted via the internet when she is not reading the Q with a physical copy, this helps revenue and sales as the digital media is vastly progressing.


Issue number and date of publishing can also be located on the top right of the page for customer convenience.
