Blog Brief

Hello Reader,

In this blog you will encounter various documents each having a specific purpose. As a phase of the Construction I did a Preliminary Task with a front cover, contents and evaluation in order to get to grips with magazine construction and the final magazine which was done afterwards but other documents had to be done beforehand for it to be a successful magazine. With the Research phase I made a Quantitative Audience Survey in order to understand my fan base of country music in detail. Then I created Annotated Examples of Existing Text in order to visualise the codes & conventions of existing magazines related to our demographic (some).  Afterwards I did a Qualitative Audience Research Focus Group document in which I explored particular template layouts and designs then questioned my fan base about them and what they disliked, this was so my layout could cater to my audience. Then an Audience Profile was made which summarised statistics and certain images which represented my demographic. As part of the Planning we created contact sheets, rough designs, flat plans and pitch presentations along with photo shoot documents. Finally was the Evaluation phase which was to analyse and question what we had done whether we challenged codes & conventions of mainstream/major magazine or not etc? This helped improve the final magazine and whether I had realistically applied codes & conventions for it to imitate a professional magazine.
